Enjoy Fall Decorating at The Little Black Chair

We have our Fall Merchandise displayed and the store looks great!  We have lots of new things for Halloween and Thanksgiving as well as fall florals.

We also welcome a new vendor...Carrie Miller.  Carrie is a talented artist who creates beautiful pressed flower pictures, notecards, and bookmarks...all from flowers grown in her garden.  Flower pressing is a lost art and it requires much patience and a steady hand, not to mention artistic creativity.  What a wonderful holiday gift any of her products would make!

Stop in soon and see what's in store!

Getting ready for the Gahanna Greenflea...

I've been so busy trying to get all my ducks in a row for the Gahanna Greenflea this coming weekend while juggling a bathroom remodel, a major landscaping project, and preparing the shop for the Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival coming June 17, 18, 19!  Laundry will need to get started tomorrow! : )

I opened for Barb today so that she could attend her son's graduation from 8th grade!  Many congrats to Dylan!  I spent the day working on tweaking vignettes, and re-arranging product, doing some organization to get ready for Blues and Jazz and the Greenflea, and discussing some new packaging options with Barb which she is considering for a few of her products.  Look forward to some great new packaging for her wonderful solid lotion bars!  If you haven't tried one yet, you are missing a great product!

The necklaces and earrings in the shop, provided by Forgotten Dreams, are selling like hotcakes!  The unique style combined with history and charm, make for a dramatic statement.

Have you bought any flower pins, hairbands, or hairclips yet?  In case you haven't noticed, these are all the rage and we have a great selection!  Also in store, at a great value, are adorable scrabble tile, horoscope, & Alice in Wonderland necklaces.

Have a good week and I'll be sure to write again soon!

Spring is here and so are the chores...

This weekend, my wonderful husband and I got to work on the landscaping in front of the shop.  We had hoped to get more done than we did, but it started to rain and we ran out of mulch.  I was secretly happy for the rain because I wasn't sure that I would be able to drive home if we had worked any longer. Ouch...my aching body!  I guess it's been a while since I did that much hard work~!  I'll post pictures when it stops raining!

We got the weeds pulled, the bushes trimmed, the mulch spread, and Jim even moved several plants!  It looks great!  We still have lots to finish before our first Gahanna Greenflea on June 11th.

We wanted the shop to look its best for this coming Saturday, May 21st, when Gahanna, The Herb Capital of Ohio, will host their annual May Herb Day.  The FREE Herb Day activities are from 9-4 at Creekside Park & Plaza and also at the Ohio Herb Education Center located right next door to us at 110 Mill Street.

The city will offer herb plants & heirloom vegetables for sale.  There will also be herbal, garden, and artisan vendors, a book signing, the OHEC Cookbook unveiling, as well as tea tastings and children's activities.

Be sure to stop by Honey Grove Botanicals and The Little Black Chair to see our great selection of garden items & wonderful herbal bath, body & candles merchandise.  Make sure to ask for our specials that day!

Beautiful Terrariums!

I just love these terrariums!  Wouldn't this look sensational sitting on your kitchen countertop filled with pots of herbs?
I would love to have this terrarium sitting on my desk or in my bathroom.  It would sure bring some life into a sometimes sterile space.

Spring is here and it's time to think "GARDEN"

I spent yesterday taking down all of the adorable Easter decorations at the shop.  It's always bittersweet when I change displays.  I hate to see things go away, but I'm always excited for my next design.  I've got my main table filled with lovely garden related products and there are more coming each day!

In the next few days I will have some gorgeous vintage terrariums which you will love!  I want to keep them for myself, but I promised myself...and my husband...that I would share!  I'll be sure to post a photo!

Welcome Kathleen Bogue!

Please welcome Kathleen Bogue owner/designer for Forgotten Dreams.  Forgotten Dreams is a fabulous line of handcrafted jewelry made from vintage coins.  Kathleen has a unique sense of style and a keen eye for detail.  She offers many styles of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, as well as hair jewelry and key chains.  There is so much history behind the coins and the faces on them.  Listening to Kathleen describe the pieces is like opening a history book.  It is all so fascinating!  I loved the jewelry for it's one of a kind style, but also found it fun to look for pieces with coins which reflected my heritage or had the date of my birth or wedding year.  We hope to have a display in the store next week.  I'll be sure to post some photos once it's in place.  Don't forget to stop by and check it out!

All Easter Merchandise 15% off!

I have been busy at the store rearranging merchandise to make way for new product.  We have new additions in the store from consigners and talented artisans Therese Marie and Arianna.

I'm hoping to be back in the store tomorrow to set up some new displays for Honey Grove's wonderful 100% soy candles.  I happened upon some great new shelves that should look awesome in the store and they are sure to showcase our great products.

I am meeting with two new possible consigners over the next week to bring you more variety to your shopping adventure.  Once we are a go, I will let you know what's in store!
